Closing Event celebrates the impact of the “YES Armenia”-Programme on the Public Administration System of Armenia
The Closing event held on January 30, 2019 in Yerevan recapitulated the results and impact of the EU funded “Yes Armenia”-programme launched in December 2017 with the aim to contribute to the modernization of the public sector with the help of young experts from Armenia and the Diaspora.

Over the course of twelve months, they developed and implemented 21 priority projects central to Government reforms and EU priorities, covering 11 sectors ranging from agriculture and tourism to education and renewable energy. In his opening speech, HE Mr. Piotr Antoni Świtalski, Ambassador and Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, noted that YES Armenia not only proved, “that young professionals can have a lasting impact on eliminating old vestiges of bureaucratic and other systems of governance that impede the rapid development of Armenia”, but he also emphasized, that the programme was creating another bridge to the Diaspora. The Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Mr. Tigran Avinyan, praised the new energy the programme brought to the public administration system and highlighted its mutually beneficial nature: practical experience and an inside view for the young experts as well as their skills and ideas turned into actions to solve existing problems.
